Landlord Hardship Fund

The NSW Government has released a Hardship Fund for landlords who have provided rent waivers for tenants. The grant is up to $3,000 per property, per month, per retail or commercial lease.

It applies to landowners who:

  • Have land holdings less than 5mil in total (as per land tax assessment)
  • Have not claimed land tax relief (you can choose between land tax relief and hardship fund grant)
  • The landowner entity receives predominantly rental income (rent needs to be more than 50% of income)

Applications open online in October.
