I recently had a really good experience with government traineeships that I wanted to share with you.
With assistance from Dannelle Robson at the Illawarra ITeC I have concluded my first experience with a partially government funded traineeship with our Administration Assistant Tahlia Miller, completing her Certificate III in Business and it has been an overwhelming success.
Skills are gained with 12 units of study which in most cases take 12 months to complete (MYOB training is available). Once your trainee has completed this course they are then able to continue their study with courses such as the Certificate IV in Business and various other business / administration courses if desired. These courses offer subjects involving basic office management and tax and accounting procedures – all of which can be used in your workplace on a daily basis.
The approximate wage for a 19 year old trainee is less than $20,000 p.a. including super with government incentives available of around $4000 (with very easy paperwork). The trainee does about 1 days worth of study a week which is done in house and an assessor is able to come out to your office to organise the trainees study and to assist with any difficulties that may occur.
